2011 HighBird Production's Good Vibes Announcement

HighBird Productions embarked on a journey of great magnitude--to bring dance music to the indie kids, metal headbangers, hip hop heads, and beach rockers of the 805. With the help of a few loyal friends and a dedicated electronic music fanbase, HighBird Productions accomplished its goal, changing the face of Ventura County forever by putting on the first annual GOOD VIBES.

Since our groundbreaking event, we have shared and celebrated some incredible moments: pulsing beats, international talent, phenomenal encores, and the most spectacular production ever witnessed in the 805--P.U.R.E. In order to provide these unforgettable events, the team at HighBird Productions has spent thousands of hours, negotiated hundreds of favors, and even shed a small amount of blood and tears to pursue this dream.

Our dream--to drown in a sea of dancing people, to highlight incredible music styles and world class talent, and to share a lasting memory of live music with thousands of like-minded music fans. With the help of our incredible HighBird street team and thousands of fans, we have achieved our dream. We thank you for helping HighBird soar!

Now we look to fly even higher. HighBird Productions is proud to announce its first MULTI-GENRE music festival. GOOD VIBES will not be confined by the word rave. GOOD VIBES is much bigger than a rave. GOOD VIBES will showcase the diverse and eclectic range of music that Southern California has to offer. From indie rock to electro-house, our lineup will include genres you have followed all your life, rising stars, and a handful of artists you’ve never heard of, but will fall instantly in love with. Music to dance to. Music to jump up and down to. Music to pound your chest to. Or perhaps a combination of all three!

This event will be unlike any we have ever thrown. Trust that we will bring the noise and the funk, trust that we will bring incredible talent, and most importantly, trust that after all the lights and fader switches have been turned down, the memory of our event will live with you for a lifetime.

The second annual GOOD VIBES Music & Arts festival will be held March 26, 2011 from 2PM to 10 PM at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara. Prepare yourself for a 6,000 person location, art walk, outdoor and indoor arena, multi-cultural dancers, and local and International music icons. As always, you can expect all of the lights, booming sounds, and delightful surprises that have become synonymous with the name HighBird.

Faux-chella 2011

Not unlike shaking the shit out of your Christmas presents, we present to you another mock (but not-unlikely) rendition of Coachella 2011's magnificent line-up.

'Tis the reason for the season, no not a Jewish baby/God incarnate, but the actual 12/25 holiday in the USA. So we're going with "Christmas" rather than the generic "holidays" (but that's a whole different topic for a different date). HighBird Productions is happy to give the gift of some of the best (and worst) alternative Christmas music.

If you're like us, you can do the strip mall/
coffee shop/DMV Christmas music for about a day. For the rest of december you want to go postal on anything remotely looking like a gingerbread house, no matter which list some jolly white haired diabetic puts you on.

With out a doubt 2010 will always stand as a monumental year for electronic music. As the year winds down, I have discovered gold for any true EDM fan and I want to share with you all. Virgin Records presents, Take One- A Documentary of the Swedish House Mafia. The film covers the experience of 285 gigs in only 2 years across over 15 countries.

I have been fortunate enough to attend a significant amount of shows in 2010. Witnessing sets from superstar after superstar, Swedish House Mafia EDC 2010 hands down my most memorable experience. Complimented with a life changing production set up, Swedish House Mafia's track selection took everyone on a journey we'll never forget.
